We make extensive use of EPDs (Expected Progeny Differences), ensuring that every bull we choose will pass on desirable traits like rapid growth, optimal weight at weaning, and ease of calving to the next generation.

2. Physical Excellence and Conformation

Our bulls must meet stringent physical criteria. We assess each animal’s structure, paying close attention to muscling, body condition, and soundness in the legs and feet. A bull with poor conformation won’t make the cut at our ranch. Only the strongest and most well-built bulls are added to our program, ensuring that they not only breed successfully but also pass on these characteristics to their offspring.

3. Superior Fertility

Fertility is non-negotiable for us. Every bull undergoes a Breeding Soundness Exam (BSE) by a certified veterinarian. This comprehensive assessment evaluates semen quality, scrotal circumference, and overall breeding health. By selecting bulls with larger scrotal circumference, we improve the fertility of both the bull and its future progeny. Our investment in this area directly contributes to the long-term productivity of our herd.

4. Temperament and Manageability

While physical and genetic attributes are essential, we also prioritize temperament. Our bulls must be calm, manageable, and responsive. Bulls with unpredictable behavior simply do not fit into our program.

Every bull we choose has demonstrated superior weaning and yearling weights, ensuring that our calves reach market weight faster and with less input. All bulls are selected from reputable, high-health-status herds, and undergo stringent health checks, including vaccination and disease screening.
